A Nice Evening for Ginda
Last weekend we celebrated Ginda's 29th birthday in the Duterte home. Ginda was thrilled to have so many wonderful friends at her party to celebrate with her. Some friends of CSC from Cebu also came and provided a lechon baboy for the evening.
Ginda made a grand entrance in a beautiful blue dress and purple bag. The house was decorated with blue and purple tablecloths and balloons to match. It was definitely Ginda's night! She knew it and could not stop smiling! Everyone could sense Ginda's excitement!
Birthday parties are a lot of fun at CSC. A big thank you to all of our friends and supporters who helped make Ginda's party and so many other birthday parties at CSC so special for the CSC kids!
Auntie Warlita Retires
Auntie Warlita has worked as a nurse at CSC since 1997. She has taken hundreds of children to the doctor in the past 18 years. Lovingly taken care of and prayed for the kids and the ministry of CSC. Her love, dedication, and Godly example was a great encouragement to everyone she came into contact with. All of us at CSC were blessed to have her be a part of our lives the past 18 years.
On September 30th we had a farewell party and lunch for Auntie Warlita hosted by the nurses. Uncle Mitch shared about Warlita followed by a lunch with many of the CSC workers. A wonderful time of fellowship, laughs, and appreciation to Auntie Warlita was had by all.
Thank you for your ministry to CSC Auntie Warlita. May God bless you as you continue to serve Him!
Sore Eyes
Sore eyes has hit CSC! As this blog is being written, seven babies and toddlers and one school age child have sore eyes. Sore eyes is very common in the Philippines. In the US, it is called pink eye. It affects all ages and usually spreads from one eye to the other very quickly. One’s eyes become swollen, turn pink, and are very itchy and painful. It can be miserable for anyone who has it, especially the babies and toddlers. Please pray for all the kids who currently have sore eyes and that it would not spread to others throughout the houses.
Hanging out on the Basketball Court
Most of my day is spent working in the office doing HR responsibilities. At the end of the day I look forward to going to the shelter and hanging out with the kids. One of my favorite things to play with them is basketball. Basketball is popular at CSC and you can always find someone playing on the basketball court. I enjoy getting to know the kids through shooting baskets, playing one on one, or a team game. Basketball is always fun at CSC. It’s a great way to end my day!
Meet the HR team
I'm Marcel, the guy on the right! I am happy to be back in Cebu after spending the past year in the States with my wife and her family. It was great to meet so many of you while we were there. Upon returning to Cebu I have joined the Human Resource Team at CSC. We are working together to make improvements for all of the workers and processes for the organization. I am excited to be a part of CSC and work alongside Joel and Peter!
