Morning Meeting
Morning Meeting! This is one of the most popular activities in school that CCHS children look forward to. Each level is given a slot every quarter to share what they have learned in SRA (reading and language arts) class through songs, poems, stories, and other activities.
Level B1 students did a great job in their morning meeting last week. They shared about kindness and sharing stories, the two most recent themes they had covered in reading. There was a variety of presentations.
One group of students shared a song about kindness.
Another group told a story using hand puppets.
One of the boys talked about sharing stories using a big hand-made book.
The children ended the morning meeting with a dance about sharing.
It was fun to see Level B1 students perform!
First Tears
Level A class has one girl and six boys and that lone girl is a sweety. She always wears a beautiful smile every day. But one day during the first week of school, her smile turned to a frown and she eventually shed some tears. The reason she was crying was because she got tired of writing her name! The class kept on encouraging her to do it, but it didn’t help. She was then brought outside the room to calm down. After a few minutes, she was back with her beautiful smile again.
All About Thanksgiving
Last Friday was the Level A 2 students’ morning meeting. Since it fell during thanksgiving month, each presentation was all about being thankful. The boys shared verses about thanksgiving and they performed a thank you dance. The girls interpreted the song, Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart. A video of the bible story, The Ten Lepers, was shown which reminded everyone that, like any other giver, God is also happy when we give Him thanks.
It was a nice morning meeting. I was so happy to see some of the boys perform well. They looked so cute doing their movements to the song. I know it wasn’t easy for them to focus for such a long time, but they did a great job. The girls were amazing. They performed each step of their dance without looking at someone else to follow. Watching them move their bodies to glorify God was just so wonderful. It was a great performance from the little girls of CCHS. The students really gave their best effort sharing the message about being grateful in everything and to everyone around. Praise God!
