A Very Special Event
The night of the 23rd day of September was a special one for everyone at Cebu Children of Hope School. It was full of excitement and laughter. Teachers and students gathered together at the shelter for the Reading Challenge Culminating Activity. It started with games followed by the awarding of contest winners, s’mores-making and punch drinking.
The highlight of the event was the awarding time. The winners received books as their prize and all the students who met the reading goals got to throw a whip cream pie at their teacher’s face. It was REALLY fun for everyone, especially the students. It was also a GREAT experience for the teachers. This year’s Reading Challenge was a SUCCESS!
Fil-Am Friendship Day
A Day of Friendship
Every 4th of July is Friendship Day at Cebu Children of Hope School. On this day, there is always a special time set aside for everyone to gather together and have fun.
This year, the celebration was great. Everybody, especially the students, had fun. There were a lot of friendship games that taught them good values like cooperation and considering others. The highlight of the celebration was a parade as a finale with candy tossed to the kids. It was very special for the students. They all had fun picking up the candies and sharing with each other. It was a joyful celebration.
A Wonderful Surprise!
Happy New Year!
God is GREAT! He has been so faithful to Cebu Children of Hope School during the past year. His protection and provision were so evident in the lives of each one of us at school. A number of kids were given forever families and are now starting new chapters in their lives in new families, homes, and schools.
This year already God has given us a wonderful surprise at school. Seven lovable students joined classes after the Christmas break, three preschoolers and four elementary students. Their coming has made the school merrier because each one of them is a bundle of joy. They are gifts from God that enrich everyone’s lives at school.

Mabuhay ang Wikang Filipino!
Last Friday, August 28, was a happy day for everyone at CCHS. It was the Buwan ng Wika Celebration, an all-day event focusing on Filipino language. All the students as well as the teachers really had fun.
The Filipino games played in the morning gave every student a chance to participate and every team showed good teamwork. The older kids helped the preschoolers even by carrying the little kids to get the tasks accomplished. It was an amazing sight to see all members of each team working as one.
The afternoon activity was short, but sweet. All the students’ presentations were really great! Each presentation displayed the children’s and teachers’ great efforts.

Have Fun with Math and Science!
Science and Math Day is always fun for everyone at CCHS. It is a whole day affair full of interesting activities.
Recently, everyone had a lot of fun during the science and math culminating activity. In the morning, there was a math quiz bowl with the students grouped into teams. The students took turns answering math questions categorized by levels of difficulty: easy, average, and difficult. It was so cool to see the students think and analyze.
The afternoon events focused on topics the students had been learning about in their science classes. Different presentations were given by each of the science classes. The highlight was the demonstration from the Group 4 class about static electricity. Examples of static electricity were shown using balloons. The students were amazed with what they saw and discovered. It was super fun for everyone!
